TabcoveTerms of Use
1. Agreement
By installing or using Tabcove ("the extension"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall it. The extension is published by ownCoder ("we", "us").
2. Licence to use
You are granted a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to install and use Tabcove on any number of devices, for personal or commercial purposes, for as long as you like. No account, registration, or payment is required.
3. Source code and brand
Tabcove's source code is published under the MIT Licence and may be read, modified, and redistributed under that licence's terms.
The name "Tabcove", the Tabcove logo, and the icon set are excluded from that licence and remain the property of ownCoder. If you distribute a modified version, you must do so under a different name and a different mark. This restriction exists to protect users: in this exact software category, a well-known extension was acquired and re-published with malicious code under its original name, and its users had no way to tell the difference.
4. Your data
Everything Tabcove saves belongs to you and is stored only in your own browser profile on your own device. We have no access to it, no copy of it, and no ability to recover it. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
You are responsible for your own backups. Tabcove provides automatic restore points, a 30-day undo bin, and one-click export in five formats precisely so that this is easy — but browser storage can be cleared by the browser, by your operating system, by other software, by profile corruption, or by uninstalling the extension. Please export regularly.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Tabcove for any unlawful purpose.
- Redistribute a modified version under the Tabcove name or a confusingly similar name or mark.
- Misrepresent a modified version as being published or endorsed by us.
- Attempt to use Tabcove to circumvent security controls or access data you are not entitled to.
6. No warranty
Tabcove is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every version of every browser.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall ownCoder be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or in connection with your use of Tabcove — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because Tabcove is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the extension is limited to zero. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Free features stay free
Every feature present in version 1.0.0 will remain available at no cost. If paid features are introduced in a future version, they will be additions — not the removal of anything you can use today. This is a commitment we are making deliberately and in writing, and it is recorded in the project's public repository.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue Tabcove at any time. If the extension were ever withdrawn from the Chrome Web Store, your locally stored data would remain on your device and your exports would remain readable — the JSON, HTML, Markdown, CSV, and plain-text formats are all open and self-describing, and the HTML export in particular opens in any browser with nothing installed.
10. Third-party services
Tabcove is distributed through the Chrome Web Store and its source is hosted on GitHub. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Tabcove itself makes no network requests and integrates with no third-party service at runtime.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above, and the full history of this page is public in the project repository. Continuing to use Tabcove after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the publisher's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Where local consumer protection law grants you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are unaffected.
